I．緒言

　松果体腫瘍はCushing^1）によれば，米国においては脳腫瘍中1.6％を占めるにはすぎないまれな疾患であるが，わが国では約10倍の発生をみる重要な疾患である。

　最近，われわれは早期診断の困難であつた松果体腫瘍の症例を経験した。この症例の臨床経過と現在までに解明しえた病理的所見の関係について考察を行なつてみたい。

A report is made on a case of pinealoblasto-ma in a male of 11 years of age. Due to bizarre clinical manifestations exact diagnosis was not possible during its early stages.

The initial symptoms consisted of Frdhlich's syndrome and signs of increased intracranial pressure. While abnormal calcification was ab-sent in the area of the pineal body, internal hydrocephalus was revealed through ventricul-ography. As a result of examination of hormonal functions thyroid and sexual hypofunction was detected suggesting the presence of hypothal-amo-hypophyseal disorder. Local signs such as Parinaud's symptom were absent in this stage.
