Standard Values for Accommodation in Normal Japanese. A New Proposal

I．はじめに

　石原調節力曲線^1）は日本人の開発した近点計により，広い年齢範囲を対象としている点，今日もなお，日本人調節力値の標準として揺がぬものがある。

　先生が，その原著に引用されたDonders^2），Duane^3）両氏の欧米人計測値は，例数こそ圧倒的多数であるが，近点計の精度からみると，石原曲線とはくらべものにならない杜撰な面をもつている。

Standard values for accommodation for vari-ous ages of normal Japanese subjects were first published by Ishihara in 1919 and have been followed by numerous attempts at modification by various authors until the latest one by Fukuda et al. in 1962 (Fig. 1). For the sake of more accuracy and practical convenience, following values are proposed as the standard ones by the present author:

For 5,10 & 15 years of age: 14,12 & 10 dio-pters (allowed deviation: ±1.5D).

For 20, 25, 30……55 years: 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 3, 2 & 1 D respectively (deviation: ±1.0D).

For 60 years: 0.5D (deviation: ±0.5D),
