I．緒言

　円板状黄斑部変性症（Disciform Degenerat—ion of Macula Lutea）なる名称は，Kuhnt＆Junius （1926）が，8例の症例を検討し，かつて，Oeller （1893〜1896）が発行した眼底図譜に記載されているものを再確認し，その名称を踏襲したものである。

　本疾患の病理組織学的記載はMichel （1878）によつて最初になされ，以後Axenfeld （1915）Elschnig （1923）などの報告がある。

A report is presented over a case with typi-cal lesion of disciform mucular degeneration (Juhnt-Junius) in a male of Chinese nationa-lity of 59 years of age. The condition ocurred in the right eye, the left eye being normal in all respects.

The whitish-yellow mass was situated beh-ind the retinal vessels around the macular ar-ea and assumed an irregularly round to oval shape. The diameter of the mass measured 4 to 5 times of the optic disc and protruded by about 2 diopters. Superficial and deep retinal haemorrhages were present at the margin of the lesion as well as in the surrounding are-as.
