I．緒言
先にヘルペス性角膜炎に癌細胞の代謝拮抗物質である5—Iodo−2'—Deoxycitidine （TIU武田，IDU住友化学）を用いて治癒した後の再発例（メタヘルペス性角膜炎）に対しては，前記薬剤は無効であつたが，同剤類似の5—Iodo−2'—Deo—xycitidine （TIC武田）が著効を奏した2症例を報告した。更にその後，9症例を経験したので，追加報告する（第1図）。
TIC (5-Iodo-21 Deoxycitidine) was tested for the effects in the eyes of 11 patients with herpetic or metaherpetic keratitis. This medi-cine was used topically either as 0.1 percent solution or as 0.25 percent, ophthalmic oint-ment.
1. When admininistered topically both TIC of 0.1% solution every 2 hours between 6 and 22 o'clock and of 0.25% ointment once at 22 o'clock, TIC proved to be an excellent thera-peutic agent against herpetic and metaherpe-tic keratitis.
