IDU軟膏の角膜ヘルペスに対する効果

Treatment of herpes simplex keratitis by IDU ointment

　著者らは前報において5—iodo中2'—deoxyuridine（IDU）の角膜ヘルペスに及ぼす効果について報告した^1）。その後症例数を増すにつれ，本剤の有用性について確信を強くしている。IDUを角膜ヘルペスの治療薬として眼科領域に導入したKa—ufmanは，最近多数の症例についての結果を報告している^2）。また杉浦らも6例の治療経験を発表している^3）。Kaufmanの原法は0.1％溶液の昼間1時間毎，夜間2時間毎という頻回点眼であるが，実際上には容易なことではない。そこで若し軟膏として結膜嚢内の貯留時間を延長させたならば，少ない点眼回数で済むのではないかということは当然のこととして考えられる。今回の目的はIDUの軟膏が実験的家兎角膜ヘルペスに対し影響するかということ，及び臨床的に効果あるか否かということを検討するにある。

　IDUはSmith, Klein＆French LaboratoriesPhiladelphia, Pa．から供与された純末を用いた。軟膏の基剤は白色ワゼリン9，脱水ラノリン1の割合に混合したものである。IDUの濃度は0.25％とした。予備実験の結果0,5％では時として刺激がある。0.25％では何等の副作用を認めなかつたからである。

An ophthalmic ointment containing 0.25% 5-iodo-2'-deoxyuridine (IDU) was tested for its availableness in herpes simplex keratiti-s. The subjects were experimental keratitisin rabbits and some clinical cases in humans.

The drug was administered 5 times a day.

1) In rabbits, the IDU treated eyes were cured promptly, in a few days, while the fell-ow eyes, treated with ointment ba se only as the control, developed a severe manifestation such as an expansion of ulceration, corneal vescularization, and herpetic iritis.
