I．緒言

　脳血管障害特に脳血管閉塞症が諸種の眼症状を呈する例の非常に多いことは，従来我々が日常の臨床で経験している所である。また本症の早期に眼症状を呈する例も多く，眼科的諸検査所見は，本症の診断，経過観察に重要な意義をもつている。

　著者は，最近左眼の突然の視力障害を訴えてまず眼科を受診し，脳外科にて諸検査の結果，両側内頸動脈の完全閉塞症と診断された1例を経験したので，ここに報告する。

A case of bilateral carotid arterial occlusion with predominant ocular symptoms in a 65-year-old man is reported.

The ophthalmological findings were as fo-llows : (1) a sudden loss of vision in the lefteye due to central retinal artery occlusion, (2) glaucoma and rubeosis iridis in the left eye and (3) cataract in both eyes. Neurologic examination reveaed no abnormal findings. Arteriography revealed the occlusion of bila-teral internal carotid just at the site of bifurcation of the common carotid artery aswell as anastomosis formation between exter-nal carotid artery and ophthalmic artery on the left side.
