I．緒言

　内頸動脈は眼動脈及び視路の血流を司る中脳動脈を灌流しており，若しここに閉塞が起これば，何等かの眼症状を呈する事が考えられる。しかし，現在まで内頸動脈閉塞症又は血栓症（以下本症と略す）に関する報告は，特に本邦眼科領域よりするものは意外に少い。その理由は本症が稀な疾患であること以上にその存在が広く充分に知られておらず，診断の為の必要な検査，例えば脳血管撮影，網膜血圧測定などが未だ普く実施されていなかつたためとも思われる。

　文献的には，Virchow （1856）が剖検により，内頸動脈が閉塞し，眼動脈及び網膜中心動脈は通じているが，生前片側の失明及び眼瞼下垂を示した症例を報告して以来，外国では，少いといつても相当数の発表があり，Johnson及びWalker（1951）は107例，Luessenhop （1959）は486例を挙げている。本邦では，清水^4）の1例（1937）以来数十例を数え^{5）6）7）9）10）}，又本症に関する知見も紹介されている^11）。

Two cases of internal carotid artery occlu-sion in siblings are reported.

A boy of 9 years of age complained of bilate-ral blurred vision and hemiparesis of the right extremities with involuntary movement for two months. Ophthalmologic examination pro-ved the relative central scotoma and hyperto-nic changes, juvenile type, of retinal arteries. After 6 months, the patient developed right homonymous hemianopsia and hemiparesis of the left extremities. Angiography revealed the bilateral occlusion of the internal carotid ar-teries below the siphon.
