I．いとぐち
炭酸脱水酵素阻害剤として，サルファ剤が初めて眼科的に使用されたのは，1954年Becker氏に依つてであり，以来Benzothiazine Cardrase，Nirexon, Neptazone等の各種のサルファ剤誘導体である炭酸脱水酵素阻害剤が使用されるようになった。しかるに，これらサルファ剤系利尿剤は主として，self-limitingのない緑内障の治療剤として使用されるために長期間投与がなされる場合が多く，このため長期間連用に依つて生ずる体液電解質のアンバランスからくるところの副作用並に薬剤耐性の出現等が生じていた5—Chloro—2.4—Disulphamyl-Tolueneが長期間連用に耐える新しい利尿剤として登場し我が国ではヂウレックスなる商品名で売出されるようになつた。この新利尿サルファ剤を緑内障9例，網膜剥離症2例結膜浮腫1例に使用し，各例にかなり著明な効果を認めたので報告する。
Diurex was orally administrated on ninecases of glaucoma, two cases of retinal detachment, and one of bulbar chemosis, and the result as follows.
1) the hypotensive effect was shown in all cases of glaucoma except secondary glaucoma with leucoma adherens corneae, and the de-gree of the reduced ocular tension avereged 13.3mm.Hg.
2) the systemic blood pressure can be low-ered only in cases of essential hypertension, but diuretic effect almost unchanged.
3) as side reactinns, paresis in hands and fingers was noticed in six cases, and the dis-order in the stomach in one cases.
