Diurexによる癲癇の治療

THERAPEUTIC EFFECT OF DIUREX ON EPILEPSY

はじめに

　最近新しい利尿剤として取り上げられた5-Chloro-2：4-disulphamyl-toluene （Diurex，Disamide）（第1図）はacetazolamide （Diamox）と同じく抗痙攣作用を有するとされ，Davis^1）等は電撃又はLeptazolの静注によつてマウスに惹起される強直性伸展性の痙攣に対して経口的に投与された本剤が拮抗的に作用することを認めている。従つて5-Chloro-2：4-disulphamyl-tolueneは癲癇治療薬としても有効であると考えられるにも拘らず，実際に癲癇患者に本剤を使用した臨床報告は見当らない。しかるに今回エーザイの好意によりDiurexを癲癇患者に試用する機会を得てかなりの効果をあげ得たのでここに報告する。

We take up the anticonvulsant properties of5-Chloro-2: 4disulphamyltoluen (Diurex, Dis-amide) which is used recently as diuretics, and attempt to apply it to epieleptic patients.

1. Subjects are 7 cases, which contain 3 grand mals, 1 petit mal, 1 petit mal with grand ma1,1 grand mal with visceral seizure and 1 sensory seizure with grand mal.

2. We used 1 or 2 tablets (50-100mg) daily with other anticonvulsive drugs.

3. Results obtained were as follows; very effective in 2 cases, effective in 3 cases, slightly effective in 1 case and no effect in 1 case. It seems that Diurex was more effec-tive for grand mal than other types of epi-lepsy.

4. In 5 out of 7 cases above-mentioned, where other anticonvulsive drugs were inef-fective, we obtained a good therapeutic effect of Diurex on epilepsy using the latter with the former together.

5. In 6 out of 7 cases, an improvements in electroencephalographic findings were observ-ed.

6. There was none showing severe side effect produced by Diurex treament.
