Abstract 文献概要

　一般社会人に於ける近視眼鏡装用者の割合，及び読書者との関係を知る事は困難な問題である。唯学校，病院，工場等の患者統計から近視者の割合を推測されているのみである。私は材料を列車内に於て調査し近視眼鏡装用者数を推定し，此れが読書者との間に如何なる関係があるかを明らかにし興味ある成績を得たので報告したいと思う。

The passengers in the train of Kagoshima Line between Kagoshima station and Kawauchistation who have graduated over grammer school were examined and the correlation between the healthy. people, the near-sighted persons and the fine work were considered.

1) The examined people were 299, the number of the male was less 3.1 times as large as the female.

2) In the people wearing glasses of near sight, the male were 20.2±0.8% and the female were 4.5±0.8% but the stronger near sight were found in female much more then in the male.
