　眼部帯状疱疹の経過中，または，その経過の後に，視束症状をひきおこすことのある事実は，極めて稀れなことであり^1），今日までわが国では主として，この意味で少数の例が報告されているにすぎない。

　しかし，この種の病型には，今日，脱髄疾患のひとつの典型として，そこに新しく一般的な観点から私どもの検討すべき問題が，多分に含まれている。

Two cases were reported. The one was a twenty-seven-year-old woman. She had a herpes zoster ophthalmicus in her right eye-lid and brow in the beginning of January, 1954, which was treated by a surgeon. About three weeks later she was attacked by high fever with headache, nausea,vomitting, disturbances of speak and taste, and then loss of vision in the right eye with slight temporal pollor of the optic disc,which went on total pallor in a few days. Disturbances appeared also in tne movement of the eye-lid and both legs. Nuchal rigidity and Kernig's sign were positive. Abdominal reflex and knee jerk disappeared.
