Some Observations on Experimental study of the Effects of Endodiathermy

　網膜剥離の裂孔が，黄斑部又はその附近に現われた症例の治療は，臨床医を悩ますものの1つであるが，その理由は，（1）手術野（眼球後極附近の鞏膜）の露出が可成り困難である上に，（2）手術野の上に得られる空間は，とかく狭隘であつてDiathermie針状電極の操作が不自由であり，又（3）黄斑部網膜の特に重要な機能を成るべく保存するためには，凝固穿刺による網膜の破壊変性の範囲を，なるべく制限し，而も所望の裂孔閉塞に成功しなければならないが，これがための穿刺部位決定は必ずしも容易でない，等の事情によるものであろう。

　このような事態を克服しようとして，眼球前方からこれを貫通（transbulbar）し，眼球内に凝固針（電極）を挿入して，直像検眼鏡で眼底を観察しながら，穿刺焼灼を行う方法が考えられ（Mamoli,1937），Dellaporta （1951）^1）はこれを詳細に再検討したが，本邦では久保木—桑原（1953）^2）によつて，この方法による手術成績の一端が報告せられている。

Using rabbits as experimental animals tra-nsbulbar method of diathermic operation, Endothermy, a term created by Dellaporta, is performed. The operation is intended for lacerated lesion of macula that causes retinal detachment.The operated eyes are then exa-mined histologically This method was first described by Mamoli in 1937 followed later by works of Dellaporta (1951) and, Kuboki and Kuwahara (1953).

(1) The endodiathermy with its dilivery ofcoagulating puncture to the eyeball causes retinal adhesions that are both, adequate and desirable.
