要約　目的：日本人でのVogt柵（palisades of Vogt）の加齢変化の報告。対象と方法：6～95歳の外来患者802例1,286眼を対象とした。5時から7時までの角膜輪部を細隙灯顕微鏡に装着したカメラで撮影し，Vogt柵の本数と長さを測った。結果：0.5mm当たりのVogt柵の本数は2～6本，平均は3.5本であった。長さは0.2～2.2mm，平均0.8mmであった。本数と長さは年齢と共に減少した。20歳代後半からVogt柵の球結膜側端で架橋が起こり，柵間帯が切断されてVogt柵が短くなり，本数が減った。切断された柵間帯は球結膜に水玉模様をつくった。Vogt柵の14％はその中間でも架橋をつくった。色素沈着は10歳代にはじまり，年齢と共に増加した。結論：Vogt柵は加齢と共に球結膜側端の架橋で柵間帯が切断されて短くなり，本数が減った。

Abstract.　Purpose：To report age-related changes in palisades of Vogt in the Japanese. Cases and Method：This study was made on 1,286 eyes of 802 outpatients. The limbal area between 5 and 7 o'clock was photographed by a camera attached to slit-lamp microscope. Results：The number of palisades per 0.5 mm ranged from 2 to 6,average 3.5. Their length ranged from 0.2 mm to 2.2 mm,average 0.8 mm. The number and length of palisades decreased along with advance in age. Bridges were formed between neighboring palisades after mid-twenties resulting in decreased number and length of palisades. The dissected interpalisade spaces formed a bubble-like pattern. Bridges were formed between neighboring palisades in 14％ of cases. Pigmentation of palisades became conspicuous after the second decade and increased along with advance in age. Conclusion：Palisades of Vogt became shorter and decreased in number along with advance in age by dissection of interpalisade bands near the bulbar conjunctiva.
