  • Look Inside

We reviewed 80 eyes which underwent sulcus fixation of posterior chamber lens followed up for 6 months or more, average 25 months. The surgery was performed as the initial procedure in 54 eyes and the secondary one in 16 eyes. Improvement in visual acuity was obtained in 96% of eyes after the initial procedure and in 80% after secondary procedure. Postoperative complications included three eyes of retinal detachment and one each of proliferative vitreoretinopathy, cystoid macular edema, endophthalmitis and dellen in the corneal limbus. While the final visual outcome was favorable in general, further refinement in surgical method is necessary to avoid serous complications.
