　親水性アクリル眼内レンズのカルシウム（Ca）沈着の原因を知るために，11眼について前房水の組成を解析した。2例は糖尿病網膜症眼で，硝子体手術の既往があり，血液透析を受けており，眼内レンズ混濁で摘出が行われた。6例は糖尿病網膜症眼で，硝子体手術の既往があり，眼内レンズ挿入を受けていた。3例には糖尿病網膜症がなく眼内レンズ挿入のみが行われており，対照とした。これら11眼から前房水を採取し，Ca，リン（P），アルブミン濃度を測定した。これらの値は3群間に有意差がなかった。Ca×P値とアルブミン値はともに，糖尿病でない3眼よりも糖尿病網膜症がある8眼が高値を示した。糖尿病網膜症眼では，房水中のCa×P値とアルブミン値が高濃度であることが，眼内レンズ混濁に関係している可能性がある。

　We tried to identify the cause of calcification of hydrophilic acrylic intraocular lens（IOL）by analyzing the aqueous humor in 11 eyes. Two eyes had diabetic retinopathy,vitrectomy and hemodialysis,and had received IOL removal for opacification. Six eyes had diabetic retinopathy,vitrectomy and IOL implantation. Three eyes were nondiabetic and had received IOL implantation. The aqueous humor was analyzed for calcium,phosphorus,and albumin. There was no significant difference in these values among the 3groups. The values for albumin and product of calcium and phosphorus were significantly higher in 8 eyes with diabetic retinopathy than 3 nondiabetic eyes. There is a possibility that calcification of IOL may be related with elevated values of albumin or the product of calcium and phosphorus in the aqueous humor.
