　灌流液の残量を示す目盛りがオペガード^(R)ネオキットとして開発された。残量が100ml以下になると警告音を発する装置を考案し，その精度，有用性，問題点を検討し，さらに実際の手術で使用した。これを用いることで，灌流液がゼロになる事故を未然に防ぐことができた。灌流液が少なくなると流速が減少する問題は，灌流液の袋の高さを調節することで大幅に改善できた。

　Background：A system exists to visually monitor the fluid level in the bag containing irrigating solution for intraocular surgery. It is marketed as Opeguard^（R)Neokit. This system may be distracting as it has to be frequently watched by the surgeon. It is also inaccurate because of the softness of the bag. Method：We developed a device that automatically emits an alarming sound when the remaining fluid content becomes less than 100ml. We tested the accuracy,usefulness and problems. Doctors in training used this device during actual intraocular surgery. Results：An alarming sound was emitted when the remaining fluid became less than 102±2.5ml. Surgeons could concentrate on the surgery as long as they heard no alarming sound. Conclusion：This device is useful for intraocular surgery.
