　後頭蓋窩epithelial cystは稀で，現在までに22例の報告があるのみである。我々は，成人の脳幹前面に発生したepithelial cystを経験したので報告する。

　症例は31歳，男性。神経学的には，入院時，右末梢性顔面神経麻痺，構語障害，右不全麻痺を認めた。CTで脳幹前面に等吸収域〜高吸収域の病変が認められた。この病変はMRIのT1強調画像では，high〜isointensityに，T2強調画像では，low〜high intensityという不均一な構造を示していた。手術所見では，腫瘍内容はヨーグルト状で容易に吸引された。組織診断は，cyst wallがpseudostratified columnar ciliatedepitheliumからなり，epithelial cystと診断した。術後経過は良好で神経学的脱落症状もなく独歩退院した。

Epithelial cysts in the posterior fossa are very rare, and only 22 cases have been reported in litera-tures. We report a case of epithelial cyst occurring on the anterior surface of the brain stem.

A 31-year-old man was admitted to our hospital complaining of right hemiparesis and dysarthria. Plain CT showed a heterogeneous (isodense - hyperdense) mass in front of the pons, and was not enhanced after injection of contrast medium. As for findings of MRI, the tumor revealed as heterogene-ous (isointense - hyperintense) mass on T1 -weight-ed image and also heterogeneous (hypointense - hyperintense) mass on T2-weighted image. We removed partially the tumor which content was like yogurt. The histological findings of the cyst wall revealed a pseudostratified columnar ciliated epithe-lium.
