　間歇眼球突出に對する手術的治療としては現在のところ，血管硬化剤を眼窩内へ注射するとか，眼窠内靜脈の結紮を行うとか，或いは頭蓋内動靜脈瘤が原因の場合は之に對する頭蓋内手術を行う等の方法が多く行なわれている。然し之等の手術を行うと後に眼筋麻痺や黒内障を殘すことが屡々ある。

　著者は開頭術を行つて眼窠から頭蓋内へ向う異常な大靜脈の閉塞を行い良い成績の得られた1例を報告している。

　A case of postural or intermittent exophthalmos is presented. A large venous sinus passing from the orbit through the superior orbital fissure to the cavernous sinus, presumably allowed intracranial blood to flow into hteorbital veins, which were probably dilated varices, when the intracranial pressure was increased by bending over, coughing, compressing the jugular veins etc. This anomalous sinus was plugged with gel from. The patient's postural exophthalmos was relieved.
