Xanthomatosis及びCholesterolosisを伴つた大腦鎌内—中皮細胞腫

ENDO-MESOTHELIOMA OF THE FALX CEREBRI WITH XANTHOMATOSIS AND CHOLESTEROLOSIS

　31歳の男予で脳腫瘍の診斷のもとに側頭下減壓開頭術を行つたが，死後の剖見により，大腦鎌状膜前部から出たEndotheliomaであることが確められた。ところがこの種の腫瘍には珍しいXanthomatosis及Cholesterolosis等の變性がみられたのでその詳細な組織學的所見を記載するとともにその變性に對する著者の意見をのべている。

　この腫瘍は大腦鎌状膜前部から出て兩側前頭葉尖端部にあり，黄色を呈し中心は軟化してXanthochromicな液をたくわえ，その中にはCholesterolの結晶がみられた，

　An endo-mesothelioma of the falx cerebri is described which had invaded both frontal poles of the brain and had undergone xanthomatous and cholesterolomatous changes.

　Xanthomatosis and cholesterolosis are degenerative states which may occur in a neoplasm, in a granuloma, and in normal tissue with average or increased levels of cholesterol in the circulating blood.

　Because of the lipid-containing cells, the development of cholesterol granulomas and excessive proliferation of blood vessels, such tumors may be mistaken for lipomas or angiomatous cholesteatomas.
