序論

　心電図による左心室肥大（以下単に肥大又は肥大心という）については先人の努力にもかゝわらず，今日尚満足すべき目標に到達していない。著者はこれをわずかでも前進させる目的で，先ず正常人の棘波の大きさと心位置との関係について^1），次で各判定基準の発見率・適中率と心位置との関連について^2）発表し2〜3の知見を得た。この論文の目的は肥大心の心位置分布と，前報^2）に於てべた判定方式の限界を知るためである。

1) The distribution of the electrocardiographic heart position in left ventricular hypertrophy is stu-died. The correlation between the grade of rotation arouhd Iong axis of the heart and the grade of left ventricular hypertrophy is confirmed.

2) Limitation of electrocardiographic diagnosis of left ventricular hypertrophy is discused. The diagnosis is inaccurate in clockwise rotated heart, in obesity and in auricular fibrillation.
