要旨●まれな胃疾患は，病理学総論の立場から，腫瘍性と非腫瘍性に大別される．臨床的には，これらは胃に限局するものと全身性疾患あるいは他臓器疾患の部分症に亜分類される．まれな胃疾患の病理診断には，病理形態学的所見の他，さまざまな臨床情報が必要である．したがって，臨床医と病理医は緊密な連携および十分な意思疎通が不可欠である．

　Rare gastric diseases are classified into neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases according to their general pathology. Clinically, these diseases are subclassified into localized diseases and systemic diseases or other organic diseases with gastric involvement（e.g., amyloidosis, sarcoidosis, and vasculitis）. Not only pathological findings, but also various clinical informations（e.g., brief clinical history, endoscopic appearance, and the site from which the tissue samples were taken）are essential for accurate diagnoses. I conclude that close cooperation and communication between the clinician and the pathologist are essential to maintain the quality of pathological diagnoses.
