エピナスチン塩酸塩点眼液のプロスタグランジンD2併用ヒスタミン誘発モルモット結膜炎における眼症状に対する効果

Effect of epinastine hydrochloride ophthalmic solution on ocular symptoms in conjunctivitis induced by a combination of prostaglandin D2 and histamine in guinea pigs

　抗アレルギー点眼薬であるエピナスチン塩酸塩点眼液のプロスタグランジンD2（PGD2）併用ヒスタミン誘発眼症状に対する効果を検討した。ヒスタミンあるいはPGD2単独点眼と比較してPGD2点眼後ヒスタミンを点眼することにより眼引っ掻き回数および充血スコアは有意に増加した。PGD2点眼後ヒスタミン惹起による眼引っ掻き回数および充血スコアはエピナスチン塩酸塩点眼液の前処置により有意に抑制された。一方，オロパタジン塩酸塩点眼液は充血スコアのみを有意に抑制し，眼引っ掻き回数に対しては有意な作用を示さなかった。 　以上より，エピナスチン塩酸塩点眼液はヒスタミンならびにPGD2を併用することにより増強した眼症状に対し，優れた抑制作用を示すことが明らかとなった。

　We investigated the efficacy of epinastine hydrochloride ophthalmic solution, an anti-allergic drug, on ocular symptoms in conjunctivitis induced by a combination of prostaglandin D2（PGD2）and histamine in guinea pigs. The topical administration of PGD2 and histamine produced a significant increase in itch-scratch response and bulbar conjunctival hyperemia compared with that of the administration of PGD2 or histamine alone. Epinastine hydrochloride ophthalmic solution significantly inhibited the itch-scratch response and the hyperemia induced by combination of PGD2 and histamine. On the other hand, olopatadine hydrochloride ophthalmic solution significantly inhibited only the hyperemia induced by combination of PGD2 and histamine, but did not affect the itch-scratch response. 　These results suggest that epinastine hydrochloride ophthalmic solution may be useful in the treatment of conjunctivitis induced by a combination of histamine and PGD2.
