Morbidly obese patients are at high risk for perioperative airway complications. For a morbidly obese fourty-year-old man (body mass index[BMI]67), we used a high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) (Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, AIRVOTM2, Auckland) to safely manage the patient’s status from the induction of anesthesia to the postoperative period. The use of an HFNC may be an option for perioperative airway management in morbidly obese patients.
