The extravasation of an iron injection can cause persistent siderosis. Although there are few reports regarding cutaneous siderosis, the use of laser therapy is an option, instead of simply waiting/monitoring. We describe the case of a 53-year-old woman who had received a single injection of ferric carboxymaltose for iron deficiency anemia; the extravasation of ferric carboxymaltose resulted in cutaneous siderosis observed brownish hyperpigmentation. She was admitted to our facilityʼs clinical department for a possible treatment to remove the coloration by the cutaneous siderosis. Although some spontaneous retirement of the siderosiswas expected, the color of the siderosis remained. Q-switched laser treatment improved the remaining coloration.
