Maxillofacial Surgery Fellowship: TAIWAN

はじめに

　台湾のChang Gung記念病院クラニオフェイシャルセンターは，年間約600件の顎矯正外科手術を行うアジア最大級の施設である。日本から近く，親日家の多い台湾という好条件のためか，多くの日本人医師が留学してきた。しかし，日本人フェローのリアルな留学生活はあまり知られていない。今回，本誌66巻4号特別企画「海外に行こう！」に掲載された「マキシロフェイシャルサージャリー臨床留学—インスブルック編—」の続編として，Chang Gung記念病院クラニオフェイシャルセンターの臨床留学記を報告する。

　The Craniofacial Center at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan is one of the largest facilities devoted to craniofacial surgery in Asia, with approx. 600 orthognathic surgeries performed per year. Many Japanese surgeons have come to study in Taiwan, perhaps because of the countryʼs favorable conditions, proximity to Japan, and the presence of many pro-Japan Taiwanese. The real-life experiences of Japanese fellows studying in Taiwan have not been well studied. however. Herein I describe my clinical study experience at the Craniofacial Center of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital: a eight-month maxillofacial surgery fellowship.
