短寿命α線放出核種の合理的な安全規制のための研究

Study of rational radiation safety management for short-lived alpha particle emitting radionuclides

短寿命α線放出核種を用いた核医学治療は難治性がんにおける有効な治療法として期待されている。そのため，国内においても治験や臨床利用に向けた準備が進められており，近い将来，放射線事業所で短寿命α線放出核種の大量利用が期待される。現在，原子力規制委員会の委託事業として，放射性同位元素等の規制に関する法律（以下，RI法）に基づく短寿命α線放出核種の合理的な安全規制についての研究が実施されている。今回は，原子力規制委員会の委託事業のうち，主に大阪大学が実施している研究について紹介する。

The article reviews the project of radiation safety management for the short-lived alpha nuclides, ²¹¹At, ²²³Ra and ²²⁵Ac. ²¹¹At is dispersed to a certain extent from an aqueous solution and the dispersal rate decreases when the cap is put on the vessel. The small amount of ²¹⁹Ra is dispersed in use of ²²³Ra. The dispersal rate decreases with decreasing exposed surface area of the solution to the air. The dispersal rates of ²²⁵Ac and the descendant nuclides are quite small. The project to develop a guideline and instruction material for radiation safety management of short-lived radionuclides was started from 2019. The work is in progress.
