Safety on stereotactic body radiation therapy in patients with early-stage lung cancer with pacemakers and cardiac implantable electronic devices：a case series

我が国でペースメーカー（pace maker：PM）の新規埋め込みは毎年約4万件，埋め込み型除細動器（implantable cardioverter defibrillator：ICD）は約4千件が行われている。新規埋め込み件数は徐々に増加しており，PM/ICD留置症例は増加していると考えられる^1）。

Many studies have been conducted in the administration radiotherapy to patients with cardiac implanted electronic devices（CIEDs）. Several guidelines and reviews suggest an approach based on risk stratification and appropriate management of patients with CIEDs receiving radiotherapy.

Studies on stereotactic body radiation therapy（SBRT）in patients with early-stage lung cancer with CIEDs have produced unsatisfactory results. We report the safety of SBRT in 11 patients with CIEDs in our institute. We evaluated CIEDs and appropriately managed device monitoring, relocation, and reprogramming. We planned to include energy and dosage criteria. We administered SBRT and did not detect any dysfunction.
