Method: This scoping review was conducted and reported as per PRISMA-ScR guidelines, using. following keywords: nursing, clinical, teaching, and effectiveness.

Result: A total of 22 papers met the selection criteria. Fifteen foreign studies revealed that competency, interpersonal relationships, and personality traits influence effective instruction using a common evaluation scale. Seven domestic studies developed a scale for competency, but none of the papers verifed its efectiveness.

Conclusion: Overseas, the characteristics of nurses in charge of the OJT that affect growth have been clarified. In the future, when examining the competency of nurses in charge of OJT in Japan, it is necessary to consider the quantitative evaluation, including their interpersonal relationships and personality traits.
