The purpose of this study was to develop the Self-completed Occupational Performance Index (SOPI). Based on the Canadian Model of Occupational Performance, the SOPI was designed to measure the quality of participation in activities of everyday life, and consists of 9 items including "Occupational Control", "Occupational Balance", and "Satisfaction of Performance" in the following three domains: Leisure, Productivity, and Self-care. The examination of the variance of the SOPI-scores, its reliability by Cronbach's alpha, and the construct validity between SOPI and SF-36v2 were applied to 432 people over 50 years old (mean: 63.1±5.3, range: 50-78).

The results of this study showed that the variance was in good shape, the reliability was very high (.93), and the construct validity was excellent. The correlation coefficients were rs=.17 in Physical functioning (PF), rs = .30 in Role physical (RP), rs=.17 in Bodily pain (BP), rs = .32 in General health perceptions (GH), rs = .42 in Vitality (VT), rs = .35 in Social functioning (SF), rs=.29 Role emotional (RE) and rs=. 33 Mental health (MH).

In conclusion, SOPI can be practically applied to surveys such as preventive occupational therapy in health promotion as the variance, reliability, and validity were proved to be sufficient.
