要旨：筆者が開発した基本的QOL評価尺度(BAQL)はアナログスケールによる評価法である．今回，スケールの精度を高めるための改良を目的に，視覚的な判定位置(実測値)と対象者が想定した値(想定値)の関係から，スケールの有効性とQOL評価における恣意性との関連について検討した．学生46名および成人75名を対象として検討した結果，実測値と想定値の一致性が高いことを認めたが，その一方で，1点刻みの実測値の意義が少ないことも示された．このことから，5点刻みの測度が望ましいと考えられ，25段階に区分した新たなスケールを設定することとした．

　The purpose of this research is the raise in accuracy of QOL scale. The relationship between arbitrary of QOL evaluation and the efficacy of scale, was examined concerning the judgment value of the objects (hypothesis value) and the visual stamp position (measurement value). This study has 121 subjects, and showed the high agreement of the measurement value and hypothesis value. However, the results showed little significance of measure of 1-point value. It is suggested that 5-point value is appropriate as scale.
