Thoracoscopic enucleation of a leiomyoma located on the middle esophagus was successfully performed using integrated ultrasonic surgical system, “SonoSurg®”. A 37-year old woman was hospitalized with dysphasia caused by a submucosal esophageal tumor. Esophagoscopy, endoscopic ultrasonography, and chest CT scan indicated that the tumor was esophageal leiomyoma, measuring 4.0 cm in diameter. Thoracoscopically, five ultrasonically activated trocars were inserted and muscular layer was divided using hook and scissors blade activated by the ultrasonic generator.
