12．理学療法士の役割—多職種でのリハビリテーションで患者の安全を確保する

The perspective from practice as a physical therapist

ICU診療において，リハビリテーションは集中治療後症候群（PICS）の予防・改善に重要な役割を果たしている。また，理学療法士や作業療法士だけでなく，医師，看護師，臨床工学技士など多職種の連携により，診療の質，患者のICU退室後の日常生活動作（ADL）や生活の質（QOL）の向上が期待できる。

Rehabilitation plays an important role in intensive care unit （ICU） care to prevent and improve outcomes of PICS （Post-intensive care syndrome）. Cooperation among not only physical therapists and occupational therapists but also physicians, nurses, clinical engineers, and other professionals is necessary to improve the quality of care, the ability to perform ADLs （activities of daily living）, and improve the QOL （quality of life） of patients after discharge from the ICU.
