Organ donation in intensive care medicine and seminars offered by the Japanese Society of Intensive Care Medicine

近年，日本の集中治療の現場でも臓器提供に関する知識が求められている。臓器提供とは，患者が避けられない死に直面した際に希望することができる，advance directiveの1つである。集中治療の現場では不可避の死が迫ってくると判断した際に，適切な場面でその選択肢を患者へ提示する必要がある。本コラムでは，集中治療における臓器提供について解説し，日本集中治療医学会が主催する臓器提供セミナーの紹介をする。

In recent years, knowledge regarding organ donation is required for intensive care specialists in Japan. Organ donation is an advanced directive that a patient can hope for in the face of unavoidable death. In the case of unavoidable death in the ICU, it is necessary to present this option to the patient in an appropriate manner. This paper describes organ donation in the intensive care unit and introduces organ donation seminars offered by the Japanese Society of Intensive Care Medicine.
