A disaster is the destruction of normal function, causing pain and loss beyond the ability to cope locally. In a disaster, after triage at the disaster site and emergency triage, the destination of seriously injured people becomes the ICU, and the role of the ICU nurse during a disaster becomes important. In the event of a disaster, the role of the ICU is to accept critically ill patients either directly from the disaster site or by wide area medical transport from other facilities without an ICU. ICU nurses in the event of a disaster need to change the ICU admission / discharge criteria, depending on the situation, and to respond differently from daily nursing practice. The functions of the ICU to deal with multiple victims include Surge Capacity and Surge Capability. To make the most of these abilities, you need to prepare and set up a daily routine.
