エイコサノイド

Eicosanoid

プロスタノイド，ロイコトリエン，リポキシンを含むエイコサノイドは，ω-6必須脂肪酸の酸化によって生成される生理活性脂質である．内因性に産生されたエイコサノイドは，炎症や組織の恒常性維持において中心的な役割を果たしている．エイコサノイドは，急性炎症のメディエーターとして広く知られていたが，現在，炎症の初期過程から収束過程までの全般にわたり様々な作用を発揮していることが明らかとなっている．本稿では，炎症過程におけるエイコサノイドの役割について概説する．

Eicosanoids consisting of prostanoids, leukotrienes, and lipoxins are bioactive lipids converted by oxidation of omega-6 (ω-6) essential fatty acids.　Endogenously produced eicosanoids play a central role in inflammation and tissue homeostasis.　In inflammation, eicosanoids are known widely as mediators of the acute phase response.　However, eicosanoids participate not only in the acute phase but also in the resolution of inflammation.　In this review, we summarize the role of eicosanoids in the inflammatory process.
