Lingual osseous choristoma is rare. A review of the literature revealed a total of five cases of osteoma since the first case had been reported by Muta and Ogata in 1938 in Japan. The present brief report deals with one additional case of lingual osseous choristoma. A 27-year-old female complained of a discomfort of the throat which occurred after common cold. An osseous choristoma was found pedunculated on the dorsum of the tongue just above the foramen caecum, and it was 1.2cm in diameter and 0.6 in height with a cylindrical shape.
