  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Case 1. A 28-year-old male complained of left facial palsy of gradual onset. The examination showed ipsilateral profound sensorineural deafness and loss of caloric response without any perforation of the left tympanic membrane or otorrhea. The operation revealed a large cholesteatoma originating in the petrous pyramid.

Case 2. A 21-year-old female was examined because of right facial palsy of gradual onset and ipsilateral facial spasm. The examination showed a right conductive hearing loss and a whitish mass behind an intact tympanic membrane. The operation revealed a cholesteatoma occupying the epitympanum.
