唾石の走査電顕ならびにX線マイクロアナライザーによる観察

Scanning Electron Microscopic and X-ray Microanalytical Studies on Salivary Caliculi

I．緒言

　唾石症は耳鼻咽喉科領域において，日常しばしば経験する疾患である。その多くは，顎下腺およびワルトン管内にでき，食物摂取時の疼痛や炎症をくり返すことを特徴としている。しかしながら，この唾石の成立機転，成長過程に関しては，さまざまな説が唱えられているが，未だはっきりとしたことはわかっていないのが現状である。今回，我々は唾石を走査電顕，およびX線マイクロアナライザーにて観察し，その形態ならびに成長様式に関して若干の知見を得たので報告する。

　Morphological observation on salivary caliculi was carried out by means of SEM and x-ray microanalyzer.

　All salivary caliculi were composed of concentric laminated structures surroundings a single central core. SEM findings of the central core showed the small grained configurations. On the other hand, laminated structure was consisted of thorn-like crystals in relatively regular arrangement, and was different from each thickness. These structural apperances may indicate a certain process of growth pattern of salivary caliculi.

　The x-ray microanalysis showed that most salivary calculi contained chemical elements such as P, Ca, Al, Cl, K.
