細菌が成因と思われる巨大な顎下腺内唾石の走査電顕的観察

A SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPIC STUDY ON A SALIVARY STONE SUSPECTEDLY CAUSED BY ACTIVE CALICIFICATION WITH BACTERIA

　I．緒言

　唾石症はわれわれ臨床医がしばしば遭遇する疾患であるけれどもその成因については，炎症説^6），異物説^7），細菌説^8）〜10）をはじめ，種々報告されているがいまだ定説はない。われわれは最近顎下腺管内に発生した巨大唾石症例を経験し，走査電顕を用いた形態学的観察ならびにX線回析を行ない，他の唾石3例の走査電顕像も含め比較検討したところ，その成因について興味ある知見を得たので報告する。

　A case of a salivary stone, 36.5×7 mm and weighted 1.7 g, removed from the submandibular gland duct was reported.

　The salivary stone was examined by scanning electron microscope and its chemical composition was analyzed by a x-ray diffraction. Morphological changes were compared between this case and the similar cases previously reported and the results were discussed.

　We considered that the cause of the salivary stone in this case is active calcification by bacteria.
