舌根甲状腺の2症例

LINGUAL THYROID, A REPORT OF TWO CASES

　I．はじめに

　舌根甲状腺は，1869年Hickmanが，新生児の窒息死の原因となつた症例を報告して以来，諸家により数多く報告されてきた。しかしながら，日常臨床においてそれほど遭遇する機会があるわけではなく，ベテランの耳鼻咽喉科専門医が時に診断に迷うことがある。

　われわれは，当院開院以来約1年半（昭和46年7月〜昭和47年12月）の間に舌根甲状腺を有する患者2例を経験し，若干の知見を得たので報告する。なおこの間に当科を初診した患者は7,584名である。

　Two cases of aberrant thyroid at the base of the tongue are reported. The patients were a woman, aged 57, and a girl, aged 6. The child was treated with administration of Thyreoid 50mg per day for the period of 80 days consecutively. The swelling at the base of the tongue was reduced to about 1/2 of the original size.
