自動車事故による副鼻腔異物

FOREIGN BODY INTRUSION IN THE PARANASAL SINUSES

　副鼻腔異物は文献上数多く報告されている。しかしその発生の動機は種々雑多で，なかには夢想だにもしないものもある。ただ最近交通事故により顔面外傷が頻発し，私どもの領域でもこれにたずさわることが少なくない。これに関連して副鼻腔の損傷，ときには異物の迷入も十分念頭におかねばならない、私どもは最近自動車事故により顔面外傷を受け，その治療が荏苒はかどらず，私どもの許において副鼻腔にフロントガラス片が介在することを確かめ，これを摘出した症例を経験したので，ここに報告する。

　Two cases of foreign body intrusion into paranasal sinuses following a motor car accident are reported. In one case a piece of broken wind-shield glass was projected into the ethmoid sinus, whereas in the other, into the maxillary sinus.

　The authors emphasize the acute need of interdepartmental cooperation in the treatment of cases involving facial trauma.
