頸部腫瘍症例—声門下腔，気管内腫瘤としてみられた甲状腺性腫瘍2例

THYROID CANCER IN THE SUBGLOTTIC SPACE AND THE TRACHEA: A REPORT OF TWO CASES

　頭頸部領域における頸部腫脹あるいは頸部腫瘤はめずらしいものではないが，その腫瘍の本体については鑑別診断上，種々苦慮することが多い。最近，私どもは嗄声を主訴とし，外来を訪れた患者がその後呼吸困難をきたし，気管内腫瘍が見出され，さらに巨大な頸部腫瘤を生じた甲状腺由来の腫瘍であつた症例を経験した。嗄声を訴えるも一見喉頭ならびに胸部に異常を認めない症例では，声門下腔，気管内精査が必要である。類似の症状と経過を示した声門下腔甲状腺癌の自験例と併せて報告し，文献的考案を加えた。

　Two cases of thyroid cancer are reported. Both cases were females, aged 62 and 63 respectively, with similar complaints of recurrent hoarseness and asthmatic attacks. These patients were diagnosed, elsewhere, as either asthma or idiopathic paralysis of the recurrent nerve, and were treated as such for several years.

　Examination revealed a thyroid cancer, in both cases, which invaded the subglottic region and the trachea. The tracheal invasion was revealed by endoscopic examination.

　Authors emphasize the necessity and importance of making an endoscopic examination whenever complaints of upper respiratory affections are met with.
