萎縮性鼻炎の疫学的研究—（3）Ozaenaと気候

AN EPIDEMIOLOGICAL STUDY OF OZENA :(3) OZENA AND CLIMATE

　Ⅰ．序

　古くから知られている萎縮性鼻炎の発生頻度の地域差が，どのような理由によつて生ずるかを知ることは，この疾患の原因的要因を明らかにするために重要であり，またそのためには広範囲にわたる疫学的調査が必要である。筆者はさきに日本各地の病院耳鼻科のご協力によつて得られたこの疾患の頻度の分布を報告させていただいた^1）。そしてさらに検討した結果，Ozaenaの頻度がその地域の地質条件によつて影響され，新しい時代の火山岩地帯に，そしてまた火山や温泉やある種の鉱山（銅，硫黄など）に関係の深い地域にOzaenaが多発する傾向のあることを見出すことができた^2）。

　これは今までに知られていないまつたく新しい知見であつたが，ここで当然，このような条件とOzaenaの発生をむすびつける要因がなんであるかという問題が提起される。

　Correlation between the incidence of ozena and different geographic localities is studied. About 100 different regions were selected for this purpose and records were made of annual normals for atmospheric temperature and pressure, the daily difference in the maximum and minimum temperatures and the amount of precipitation and sunshine of each area.

　It was found that there were more incidence of ozena occurring in area where temperature changes were relatively great from that of the early morning to the midday.
