萎縮性鼻炎の疫学的研究—（2）Ozaenaと地質

EPIDEMIOLOGICAL STUDY OF OZENA :(2) OZENA AND ITS GEOLOGICAL DISTRIBUTION

　Ⅰ．序

　萎縮性鼻炎の頻度が地域によつて異なり，したがつて，この疾患の発生に影響する外的因子が存在するであろうことは，古くから推測されながら，未解決のまま今日にいたつている問題である。この点を明らかにするためには，広範囲の疫学的調査が必要であり，筆者はさきに，日本全国各地の病院耳鼻科諸先生のご協力を得て，各地におけるOzaenaの頻度を集め，これを報告させていただいた^1）。

　その表によると，Ozaenaがどこに多く，またどこに少ないか，その傾向を一見してつかみとることはなかなかむづかしい。そこでもつとも多いところと，少ないところを若干ずつとりだしてまず比較してみると，

　In order to make a statistical study on the distribution of ozena in this country, requests were mailed to all ENT Department of large hospitals throughout Japan for a report on the number of cases seen at each such an institution. The results are as follow:

　1) The occurence of Ozena appear to be influenced by regional characteristic geological features.

　2) Ozena is more frequently found in the region of volcanic zone where numerous hot springs or mines producing, either, copper or sulphur are prevalent, than as not.
