側頭骨巨細胞腫

A CASE OF GIANT CELL TUMOR IN THE TEMPORAL BONE

　Ⅰ．緒言

　巨細胞腫については，16世紀にAmbroise Paréがはじめて記載し，近代医学的にはSir AstleyCooperが1818年明細に発表して以来，一般に長管状骨に発生する骨腫瘍の一つと考えられて来た。しかるに下顎骨などにも巨細胞腫が生じ，これがいわゆるエプリスの一つと呼ばれて以来，頭蓋骨に生ずる巨細胞腫がまれに報告されるようになつた。

　われわれも側頭骨に発生した巨細胞腫の1例を経験したので考察をくわえて発表する。

　A case of giant cell tumor in the right temporal bone was reported in a 62 year old female.

　The literatures of giant cell tumor in the temporal hone were reviewed.

　There was no sexial predilection. Clinically, it was said that in the majority of giant cell tumor patients were between 20 and 40 years of age, (so far as in temporal region, the patient were 20 and eighty years of age) especially there were four cases over forty years of age. There are 38 cases reported in this country, 16 cases involving in the lower jaw, 12 cases in the upper jaw, 2 cases in the sphenoid bone and 7 cases in the temporal bone.

　There are many cases reported as giant cell tumor which are not histologically genuine giant cell tumor, but reparative giant cell granuloma.
