痂皮形成を来たす慢性鼻固有疾患（特にOzaena）に対するセファランチンの効果

THE EFFECT OF CEPHARANTHIN IN TREATMENT OF CHRONIC NASAL INFLAMMATION CAUSING CRUST FORMATION PARTICULARLY, OZENA

　Ⅰ．緒言

　抗結核性の薬理作用の発見から出発したセファランチン（以下セ剤と略す）は，最近では広汎にわたる薬効を持つことが知られるに至り，各分野で使用されている。とくに耳鼻咽喉科の領域における滲出性中耳炎に対する効果は現在誰も疑うものはないが，山下氏らの鼓室形成術後に用いて有効であつた報告や，池田氏の小児慢性副鼻腔炎のとくにビマン，カタル型に薬効があつたとする文献，笠井氏らの各種鼻疾患（萎縮性鼻炎には効果がなかつた）に主として内服による投与を試みて有効であつたとする報告などセ剤の新らしい用い方を示したものとして興味がある。

　わたくしどもは今回Ozaena，単純性萎縮性鼻炎および鼻副鼻腔の術後に痂皮形成を訴える患者に対してセ剤の注射を応用したところ，痂皮の除去，悪臭の減退に認むべき効果を有することを知つたので，ここにセ剤の新しい使用法として紹介すべく筆をとつた次第である。

In 32 cases of patients who suffered the symp-toms of ozena and other associated conditions in which crust formation occurred in the na-sal mucous membrane, particularly, following nasal operations, the treatment consisted of administration of Cepharanthin in closes of, either, 2 mgs subcutaneously or 5 rags intrave-nously. The agent was effective in eradicat-ing the symptoms and signs of these diseases. Particularly, in 5 cases of ozena the agent was markedly effective in eliminating the foul odor of this malady and caused the crust for-mation to disappear.
