　Ⅰ．緒言

　各種の扁桃疾患の非観血的治療法の必要性は今更あらためて述べるまでもない。手術的に扁桃組織を完全に除去出来れば病的扁桃に起因する種々の障害を治療出来るわけであるが手術的治療の優劣は一先ずおいても日常の診療に於て手術施行の出来ない症例に時々遭遇する，即ち出血性素因のあるもの，高血圧症患者等々の手術禁忌患者や，患者がどうしても手術を忌避して手術の承諾が得られない場合である。

　非観血的療法としては衆知のごとく幾つかの方法が行われて来たが，それらの中でも「レントゲン」深部治療がその効果に見るべきものがあると考え，我々は今回標題の如く「レ」線治療の経験から，その成績を特に臨床的観察としてまとめたので報告する。

The results of clinical observations made on deep x-ray treatment of chronic tonsillitis is reported. The atrophy of the tonsillar tis-sues in most cases was accomplished by x-ray dosage of 100r per week amounting to the total average of 600r. During 1 year of 1963 12 cases were treated in this way. Symptom improvements (atrophy of tonsillar tissues and feeling of pharyngeal well-being) were seen as markedly in 4 cases, fairly better in 5 cases, in borderline in 1 case and without any effect in 2 cases. There was no side effect in the use of this agent.
