顕現症状を伴つた慢性前頭洞炎の6症例

FRONTAL SINUSITIS WITH MANIFEST SYMPTOMS (A REPORT OF SIX CASES)

　Ⅰ．緒言

　慢性前頭洞炎の手術療法特に鼻外法の適応については，その病変の程度，予後及び美容的見地より古くから種々論議され多くの報告がなされている。我々は最近興味ある経過をとり前頭部腫脹並びに発赤，眼瞼下垂，瘻孔形成等のいわゆる顕現症状が出現した6症例の手術療法を経験したので，文献的考察を加えてここに簡単に報告したい。

Six cases of chronic frontal sinusitis that recurred with manifest symptoms after the initial frontal sinus operation are reported. In 5 cases the number of previous frontal sinus operation was once and in 1 case it was twice. The manifest symptoms of recurrence were noted by swelling of the frontal region, presence of subcutaneous and subperiosteal abcesses and fistula formation. The period of time in which recurrence occurred was 15 years in 1 case and from a few months to 5 years in the other 5 cases. All cases of reoperation were performed by extranasal route and whenever possible bone grafts were employed. The principle cause of recurrent infection seemed to be an establishment of some obstruction in the fronto-nasal passage.
