語音聴力検査における遮蔽の一方法に就いて

MASKING IN SPEECH HEARING TEST

　Ⅰ．緒言

　近来，聴力増進手術の発展と共に，各種の定量，定性的聴力検査法が要求され，就中，Speech audiometryの普及にっれて，従来の語音検査は次第にその利用度を失いつつある感がある。然し，さほどの正確度を必要とせず概略的な聴力の測定に，複雑なSpeech audiometryを適用することは，煩雑な外来で，到底不可能なことであり，又その必要もないと思われる。従つて，簡便な従来の語音検査は，音叉検査と共に，その価値を容易に失うとは思われない。

　語音検査に於ける遮蔽に対しては，案外，留意されず，特殊な遮蔽装置も考案されているが，さほど普及されているようではなく，成書にも"手指による外耳道の閉塞，或は，適当な方法で"と記載されているにすぎない。

　As a method of masking the external auditory canal was fitted with an ordinary Eustachian tube catheter and the air was pumped into the apparatus evenly and softly to provide the necessary noise for masking. This masking noise elevated the normal hearing threshold of the ipsilateral ear to about 55db in all frequencies without influencing the normal threshold of the contralateral ear. In ordinary speech hearing tests this method of masking appeared to be the most ideal.
