副鼻腔粘膜内のビタミンCと免疫性

　Ⅰ．緒言

　ビタミンCは，生体内において，水素運搬酵素，各種水解酵素に対する賦活体としての作用等を持つていると言われるが，また細菌に対する沈降素の生成に重大な役割を演じているという。

　一方，吾々が，日常，副鼻腔炎の手術を行なう時，外科領域の手術の如く，術野を清潔に保つことは困難であり，しかも術野の血管の豊富なこと等の悪条件が多いにもかかわらず，敗血症その他の重篤な炎症を起すことは少い。

The relation between the state of immunity and the histoimmunological observation of vitamin C present in the sinus mucous mem-brane of patients affected with chronic sinus-itis is studied. In general a larger immunity was found when the amount of vitamin C in the mucous membrane, especially in the con-nective tissue, appeared to be greater. The presence of bacteria in the discharges within the sinus cavity in cases where the degree of immunity appeared to be great had a ten-dency to be negative; even when it was positive its increasing power was extremely weak. It is estimated that a period of at least four years in a state of chronic sinusitis are required before such an immunity may be gained.
